I have seen a few people asking about this and have found a way of doing it.
Ok i think ive got a way to make the music button work without a handsfree plugged in. It works for my and i am using a
K750 converted to a W800 with R1K firmware. When you press the button you get the message to plug in the handsfree to use it. Well my way around this is to press the button two times. The first time will make the message pop up and the second will make it play music. So you must press the button the second time when the message is displayed. This is the same for pausing the music again.

i noticed this too a few days ago.
But with my W800 i just have the press the music button once and it works when the keys are not locked. I only have too press it twice if the keys are locked.

Haha. I got an original w800 and i can use the play button without needing to press it twice without headset. Think that pressing twice thing only happens if you changed your firmware from k750 to w800

The button also works on both phones, without hadsfree, if you are in Media player.
