I recently have noticed that my bluetooth exchange folder is getting filled up with weird sis files such as 11o6mrx6. I even noticed a few on my p900 such as 14cqfxttc.sis Anybody ever seen anything like this? I obviously have not tried installing any of them, it looks too sinister. Virus? Please reply if you can shed any light on this weird happening.

There is no known virus.....yet...affecting UIQ devices like the pxxx phones. so its unlikely to be virii
Why dont you backup the phone data using the sync-station...and then try deleting these files....if all works well ,no trouble...if there is a problem,,just restore the backup

Hi whozayfar,

I had that problem about a month ago.
I was busy on the pc when suddenly my phone alerted me about incoming bluetooth item. I accepted it, but I was cautious since I am sure noone uses a phone works with sis files in my work place. I installed an anti virus application on the p910 and when it started to scan, it picked up these files, they were four. I deleted the files manually and there was no poblem.
I don't know where they came from. My wife accepted same files through bluetooth on her K700 as she thought it was me and her stopped working. But after I turned it off for some time, it worked again. It could be a problem down here in SA, or there are very silly people around us.
Maybe someone have an explanation. Let's hope someone shed sime light into this.

My advise, delete them, but wouldsuggest you get an anti virus application and uninstall it after.

hi skhuu

maybe it is, funnily enough I was at pavilion watching a fliek when the files were transferrred to my phone, now i've got them on phone and pc. I've just deleted them seems to be no problem at the moment. Will keep you posted on any new developements, looks extremely sinister to me thought.

I thought that merely ticking off the "visible to other devices" box and keeping a (short!) list of trusted devices was a 100% foolproof antivirus programme on its own.

Then again, it would keep me from having all this fun with sman's bluejack module at the local McDonald's.

Mrao- I think its time.. you DON'T under estimate 'them'.. The 'Cabir' virus, esp.ly the new variant jumps on its own over BT.. And YES, UIQs like my friends Moto A something DID have an infection.. Spybot S&D (Spybot Search & Destroy) I suppose should help. And the evil in our NASTY :P minds might charge us to Bluejack and keep BT switched ON in public places.. So be ready to face the music.. (Man ! I'd still want to meet those Cabir developerz.. ) This message was posted from a S700
