I need help, but a big one !

I bought a t68i in the UK, and used my UK Orange SimCard. also I bought the BlueTooth Headset (150 pounds) and a bluetooth Pro Car-Kit.(250 pound).

Then I got back to Israel, and inserted my Israeli Orange SimCard. everything was ok, (the phone is SimFree anyway) exept for the one option - BLUETOOTH !! when I go to the bluetooth option in the menu, it appears lighter then the rest of the options, and if I press on it, it says "currently unavailable". I read somewhere on the net, that in Israel and few more countries, if you put the local Orange Simcard it somehow tells the phone to disable the bluetooh. BUT I also know its an order you can hack somehow from the phone. I can only beg for help now. 400 UK pounds for getting stuck with nothing.

Maybe I just need to hack into the software somehow. any codes ? any thoughts ?
Anyone could help here ?

Cheers-
SonyBoy

i dont know how to do it but, it sounds to me like it would be easier to hack the SIM rather then the phone...

bart- This is a democratic country here, no one will go to prison for using bluetooth !! lol. and beside - people bring bluetooth and use it here with different models. I guess the new t68i I have is a new model that looks for approval from the simcard before it uses bluetooth.

As so - I must say - if I put the UK simcard here in Israel, bluetooth is enabled again. (but each call I make costs 7 times more... )

BT is outlawed here cause the 2.4 Ghz is already taken by the IDF. (Israeli defence force). but everyone buy palms, laptops and cellphones with BT so they will open it soon. but It will take some time.

I have come across bluetooth being illegal in some countries and Israel is the first one that I have come to know. Any other countries where bluetooth is not allowed??

It's not BT that is illegal per se. It's the use of the 2.4Ghz band.

I think France also limits the use of the 2.4Ghz band, but are now making the changes and will eventually allow its use by the public.

In the Philippines, an electric power distributor in Metro Manila has the license to use the 2.4Ghz band, and some IT practicioners are trying to persuade the gov't agency to revoke the license, while at the same time trying to convince the company to just give it up as it limits the use of other technologies(ie WiFi/802.11b) using the same band
