what i dont like to see on esato is when people say PM'd, that means theyve sent a pm with their highest bid, however it also means that the seller can say that the highest bid is more than it actually is when he replies to PMs, i think it would be safer if everyone put their bid in the forum, (they cant be that private), that way everyone gets a fair deal.
obvioulsy i am not sure that this has happened, but i have been thinking that it might be, as i contacted a supposed highest bidder, who replied saying he was told i was the highest bidder.
obvioulsy there are honest sellers out there, but no one likes to be ripped off.
thought i should point it out, dont think i am very wrong in doing so.

I normally say PM because I like to keep offers etc to myself.

i think its up to the seller to decide wether a bid is kept private or not, and, maybe the buyer doesnt want everyone on esato to know what they have just bought.

I completely agree on this one, i would prefer my offers/dealsto remain between me and the seller/buyer until deal is completed

oh I love the amount of spam on this forum with people posting 'pm' and 'replied' in sales threads. ITS OBVIOUS YOU HAVE A PM its highlighted in red!! and i really wish that this forum had moderators that would take control of the sales side of things here!
Getting back to the topic... Some people definately lie in pm's about how much they have been offered in an attempt to deceive buyers but its upto the buyer to be smart enough and decide on what they want to pay for an item and what they consider to be a good price.

Thats why I don't allow bidding on my items for sale. The price you see is what you pay or an extremely close, sensible offer only via the pm system that, if accepted. Will close the sale straight away. The figure of the offer does not make its way into the for sale thread.
Imo If you want to bid on items then use Ebay or the many other auction type sites.

rookwise i agree if u want to bid use ebay, i hate people that say somethin like £120 for my k750i u say yer i wanna buy it , then they say ok done deal just as ur about to transfer the money to them they say theyve had higher a offer. If ur gonna do this just say ur looking for offers from all and dont go back on your word i know its tempting but dont do it.
