> Recommend Stereo Headsets for P910
Bookmark topic
I am utterly dissapointed with the sound quality of my Sony Ericsson P910i thru the (bundled) SE stereo-headsets. I had big expectations, maybe thats why i am so dissapointed. Just to be sure, I tried the sound quality on my pal's p910a too, and its the same.
So, what should i do?
I am ready to splash the cash, so what r ur recommendations??
Should i buy a 2.5mm-3.5mm jack (any recommended ones; links plz) and Shure 5C earphone and use it on my P910? Will it yield any better results? If any1 of u use a convertor paired with a (good) stereo headphone set, plz give me some feedback. I have a feeling that with the convertor there ud be 2 many connections and there cud be a prob there. In anycase, plz express ur views, suggestions and recommendations from ur past experience and/or ur expertise in this matter.
Also is THIS -

anygood?? Have any1 tested it with a SEPARATE (i kno SE supplies a convertor) 2.5mm-3.5mm jack on a P910?? Any reviews plz
Thank u all
p.s. i use power MP3 v2 (most mp3 songs @ 320kbps and 44.1khz) and 2*1GB cards, and i cant bear to carry a separate music player, esp having to lug around this "monster". And links of US online stores ud be great.

To start with the link that you posted for the HPM70 wont work with a P910 as it is designed for the K750i and W800 which have different connectors.
I have tried my old p910 with a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter with a reasonable set of headphones and the sound is definately better. The only problem with these types of adapter is that when you get a phone call the phone will automatically answer the phone and then hang up again as it thinks that the answer button (that is on the satndard headset) is pressed. The other option is to try your soldering skills and take the headphones off the leads of the standard headset and replace them with a 3.5mm socket.

You will notice some improvement but I think your problem is that you are asking too much of the P910 its not a hardware MP3 player so it uses software and the built in processor to decode MP3. 320Kbs is a lot to ask of that set up. 128Kbs would probably sound better as the system copes better. Ogg is better than Mp3 at the same compression so this could be an answer?

Haha... thought I am the only person who thinks the P900/P910i/P910a stereo earphones are crappy... P800's the best among all UIQ phones btw. Anyway, Yes, you can use the top portion of HPM-70 with this

Trust me, I am using this (as I bought the W800i too) combination and with PowerMP3, IT SIMPLY ROCKS!!! Check out my screenshots of the above combinations
Oh, btw, the SP88A is a complete handsfree kit for Px00/P910i that allows you to plug in any standard 3.5mm stereo earphones/headphones and you can of course use it to pick up/make calls

@ v=VinnyP!
My old SX1 black edition ran at a measly 125mhz rated processor, yet it had thumping sound quality (whilst not washing away the subte notes) that sucks u in the songs u play, and all that with the default mp3 player and (bundled) headphones!! Man, looking at it was a treat too, the matt black colour and unique design made it look so novel!!! Damn me for selling it on a cheapo.....
@ adnhk1
Special thx to u for ur recommendations and pic. I really like the idea of the SP88A, BUT, it looks (kinda) crap to me. Are there any similar devices which r more compact?? I especially don like the retractable part of the thing. Could u provide me with the links. Thx again man, thx a lot.

Now I gotta search for SP8 in this part of the world ! > >
BtW- @Md- hope you gonna tag along an extra batz if you got a big playlist. I have the 1260mAh and it barely lasts a day. Normal phone usage PLUS a lot of WAPing .. errr AND a bit of BT use is ALL I do :P

Get the adaptor and get some shure E3c or E5c. They are the best headsets i have used. When u get a phone call just pull the jack out and answer.
The adaptor you can get at any radioshack.
The headphones at any apple store, best buy, or better yet shure.com

I was in another thread about headsets on P910 and I posted there. For simplicity sake I will say that I have a similar headset from a company called Seido. They make all sorts of headsets with different cords and such.
