Hi all my a curiosity has let me down again i installed AVAST anti virus re started pc it boots up normally but when i click on any of the four user accounts it crashes and i just dont know what to do. I would be grateful for any help thanks the eternal idiot

Try pressing F8 during bootup and enter fail safe mode, you should be able to login then, and uninstall the damn thing

Thanks three but already tried that but it only gives me two options somethin called maxtor or sony dvd. Strange eh it's a mesh pc by the way. Thanks again

If at the log in screen press an account icon if it doesn't load hit CNTRL ALT DEL IT Should goto your desktop

Maybe the xp disc but f8 should work make sure you keyboard doesn't use the F keys for hot keys if So disable them after boot screen and start hitting F8.HOPE IT helps

The file that cause you to not log in to windows properly is in conjunction to Windows Explorer (explorer.exe) has been currupted.
Tip To ALL Win Users Always a copy or back up the explorer.exe file in you sys 32 forlder incase of currption. Because if you can't log in as the guy above then all you have to to is boot up in safe mode in DOS enter a cmd string(that I forgot) and will replace the old explorer.exe with the back up. And wala you have a working computer again. When backing up) explorer.exe just copy it and rename it (explore.bat)
