I have a big problem guy, and would greatly appreciate some help. Which phone should I buy? My choises are SE p900 and Motorola A1000. Please tell me your opinion!

The p910 is a bit too expensive, otherwise that would be my choise. From these two thou I cannot choose. P900 is the one that I'm thinking about right now.. but the fact that 128mb memorycard is the biggest one is really bad. I've asked the service points in Finland (where I live) and they can't put the p910 software on p900. But they said that there are some memorycards greater than 128mb that will work on the original p900. Anyone heard anything about this?

So please give me some helpfull advice.

Can't comment on the Motorola as i've never had one, but i do have a P900 that has been converted to a P910.
As far as i am aware a virgin P900 will not accept a card greater than 128 meg (something to do with driver on the phone) although there was or is a type of Memory Stick that has 256 meg onboard as a double bank and had a switch on the side.
It does'nt really help as it is just two single 128 meg memory sticks, stuck together for convienience.
The only way to get a card greater than 128 meg to work on a P900 is to do the conversion.

Someone may respond on this forum as to where you can get this done in your location.

Keep your eye on Ebay as plenty of P910's etc get sold on there.

Jaetski- I dont know about Finland. But hybrid Pxxx can be made by special Firmware/ Flashing. P900 does convert to whats called the P905, if flashed to P910 FW. Try sending PM to Esatonians like '619' and 'Gbrooks3' for credits and info on The DaVinci Team (who do A LOT of this) or Google for SEtools. But frankly, both, The Moto & P900 are Good Old type devices.. It boils down to personal choice. I like the interface of P Series, but Moto's have a sturdy build quality. If the Moto costs more, go for P900. This message was posted from a S700

i had the a1000 and i think it is a decent fone. the p900 doesnt have a desent camera while moto has 1.2 i think and poor memory from se 128mb only. i would go for the a1000 but if u need a keypad with ur fone might aswell tke the other and also the a1000 is a very strong built fone jus like the rest of motos

Yup and the Moto A1000 has the same OS and interface ( UIQ) as a Pxxx...but a 1.2 MP cam is definitely an addon.....im not so sure about the quality of pics taken with a A1000.....

If im not mistaken....the A1000 is 3g enabled too...so if you have 3g services availabkle through your operator, the moto would support it, while the pxxx does'nt.

@Md- LoL- No Cheating.. Give your option between the two choices, as he wants NOW. And knowing SE cant be sure how long a 'wait' it will be. @Xerx- I dont want to hazard a guess as to what our Guy here mainly looking for, but P910 too only has a VGA cam... : : : : : : By m0hammad (101 posts) on 2005-08-27 19:18:06 to forum P800/P900/P910 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Dont spend now, save up, wait for the p950 to come out and then splash the cash. simple This message was posted from a P910

A1000 those two phones. Its 3g and the P900 is just dated in comparison. Better interface and keypad on P900, but thats about it. I don't generally like Moto, but a relatively new Moto is better than a pretty darn old SE in some cases and this is one of them.
