i think its the fact that unless you spend a lot of money on sony products you do get bargin basement crap i made the mistake buying a cheap sony car stereo

When I worked for a big Electrical retail company the majority of faulty tv sets seemed to be Sony's. The tubes always seemd to fail quite early in their life but people would still insist on buying Sony as they had a good name.
I have never had a problem with a Sony phone or a Sony Ericsson phone ever being faulty.
