Got my PC and T68i paired OK and have Serial 1, Dial up, Fax and Sync working OK but I am unable to get File Transfer to work.
When I try and send a file from PC to phone I get the message "Service File Transfer is not found on device T68i"
Using Widcom 1.2.1.15 and MPM. Also have send file but it doesn't detect T68i.
Your setup is just fine. The T68 does not support File Transfer service using FTP (this is meant for PC to PC file transfers, and/or until a cellphone/device that supports such protocol comes out)
To upload supported file types, you can try Float's Mobile Agent (see the
FMA thread or
download it here) or
Christersson's SendFile utility.

Don't buy any Cyber-blue BT adapter/dongle or similar stuff which uses XTNDConnect Blue Manager Dirver. Since there is no way to enable MPM to find phone via BT for time being.

Here's an excellent summation on how to make BT work

in general, regardless of the bt product used, you have to:
1. install package 4 (R4A, see my
sticky post on the software section) - this includes the XTND Connect (do not use the one that came with
2. install your bluetooth software, it will create virtual ports, example from com5 to com9
the T68i supports the following services: serial port 1, serial port 2, dial- up networking, fax
3. assign serial port profile (SPP) for the T68's serial port 1 on com5
4. assign serial port profile (SPP) for the T68's serial port 2 on com6
5. assign dial-up networking (DUN) for the T68's DUN on com7
6. (optional) assign fax to the T68's fax on com8
on the control panel/phone monitor options, enable com5
you can use com6 for other application that does not require MPM, such as float's FMA. so DO NOT enable this port on phone monitor options.
that's it.
by the way, i have been using windows xp since i got the T68 and never had problems related to MPM. i use Ir, cable, and bluetooth (anycom and msi) on my notebook.

Thanks For that
After all that I think I was just impatient and not waiting long enough for SendFile to detect the phone.
I also found that I had problems if the BT icon wasn't in the taskbar. As soon as it re-appeared and I paired via Setup-Security it all worked OK.
Cheers

Could be because of serveral things:
- interference
- range/distance (is it set to use maximum transmission power?)
- configuration errors

Gowin,
I have used exactrly step by step your BT instalaltion procedure and it still fails on my PC. I have a Dell notebook with Win XP and a 3com BT dongle (+ T68i R2A). Basically, PC and T68 soemtimes pair (sometimes they don't) I have been able to upload some images to T68 but my killer app which is Outlook sync simply doesn't work. I have tried with IrDA as well and sync with IrDA is working once and once only. I need to reinstall XTND and MPM to make it work another time.
I hope to upgrade my T68 to R2E end of week in case problem is on this side. A SE tech support person told me that I had the pb because they were not supprting WinXP. but it seems many people are able to sync with XP.
I'm lost
