Is there any software that will compress mp3 files for free, i know that i will loose some quality but i want to it to put songs on my memory stick.

Besides whats already been put I still root for "Cdex" ( dbPoweramp supports newer file systems though) Cdex with the LAME codecs and BladeEnc codes AND the Vorbis (Ogg) Codecs is a small enuf baby still capable of CD rips too (I dont mean piracy etc.) just telling feature... MP3s @ 128 bit CBR would be good. If your device supports it Ogg is better (its Opensource, unlike WMV etc) I would go down thus... AAC--> WMV/ WMA --> Ogg --> MP3 --> AMR... Cheers !!
