> Recharging battery w/ usb cable on K750

Helo ppl
We all know as you plung the usb cable into the phone, it starts to recharge the battery.
Question:
Wont it short its life??? Because you might plug the cable several times a day and battery may not be fully uncharged..and so each time you do it you just spend a "charge cycle" or smth......
...or these new Li-Pol batts just dont have this cycle issue?

Hi... like other Li-Ion batteries, Li-Polymer batteries should be fine. There is some other thread on this forum, just search around. I don't see any issues with my K750i, Palm or iPod which I plug into their cables/cradles frequently for a sync of information.
However, you may encounter some sort of erratic behaviour in battery life indicator as some users (including myself) have noticed. When the USB cable is plugged into the phone, apparently the battery seems to be drained faster ( or at least the battery status indicator reports so)

ive also noticed this, i put my usb cable on to transfer a few pictures or whatever, and by the end of the day with moderate use the battery is down to like 20 / 15 % even if it was fully charged the night before, so i tent to use bluetooth and keep away from the cable

I find that if you turn the phone off then on again, the battery reading will re-adjust itself (provided you have removed the USB cable). I think the best thing here is to only plug in the USB cable when you need it then remove it after the transfer. It's ok to BT a few pics, but if you have been snap happy... USB provides way faster transfers.

yeah it should be charging and the battery shouldnt be draining that much, but its not just when you use it to transfer files, it has an effect on the phone when you dissconect it too!

definatly its way faster!
maybe the whole battery and cable thing is because when you attach your phone Xp (well have only used xp with it) treats it as a removable drive and not as a normal phone being connected

Well actually there is not really an excuse for SE to implement it like that. My iPod connects as a removable drive in XP via USB but charges properly... same with my Palm.
Kinda buggy.. but something I can live with.
