I've been reading jealously everyone's posts on here over the last few weeks as Orange Direct have not yet released the W800. I've been wanting to get it on an upgrade so have to deal with their Retentions department to get a good deal. Can anyone confirm that they are releasing it today? I've called them today and they said it's supposed to be today but they're not sure!

I'm in the same boat. Been waiting since 12th August for Orange to get the phone avialable through the retentions department. I was told it would be available today and have had to ring three times today to finally be told it's no longer going to be launched on 1st September as I was previously told. They now have no idea when it will be available. Could be tommorrow - could be in six weeks.

My cousin works there and has told me in the past that they don't disseminate information very well. He reccomended some time ago I just move to a competitor but I hung on till today hoping the W800i would be available. Seems he was right.

I've asked them to generate another PAC code and I'll probably try another network despite five years decent service (till now) from Orange.

The deal offered by the retentions dept. was 400 cross network minutes and 500 free texts for £30 per month. No handset price available obviously.

What did Orange retentions offer you?

Anybody know where I can get a similar deal to the above but through a different network?

I've not tried yet. But I'm holding out for an upgrade to a new phone on my current 120 talk plan, but I don't intend to pay a bean for the phone.

I saw on the onestopphoneshop, free W800, half price line rental for 11 months on a 12 month contract. 275 xnetwork mins, £17.50 pm.

The best Ive seen so far.

I am one of the sad individuals waiting for Orange to release the w800...heh

Yup. Im waiting for them too

They probably won't offer me anything better than my Select 500 but I sure as hell aint paying over £40 for it! I expect it sub £30!

I've been with them for seven years but would jump ship if they pulled that crap on me.

Well i can wait for 2-3 week more for my upgrade, give me time to sort out all my MP3 out. Got too many >.
Any one tryed their stores, if they got them there? I made a miss-take not getting one, when the orange store had them in stock. But i wanted to get a better deal on my line, which i know the store can't do. Only way to getter better deal is to phone orange and order from them.

Stores were selling them for £60. Then put the price up to £99.99

I called this morning and the guy said he thinks it will be released within the next few days, but he can't say when. All this just gives the impression of confusion. Surely it can't be bad to provide the agents with a launch date rather than keeping them in the dark, annoying customers and creating extra call traffic.

When I did speak re packages, I was offered my current tarrif (Select 500) plus 500 free texts per month. They offered me a free C550 with Bluetooth headset.
