Hi!

My P910i has so far (almost a year) behaved well and synced my calender and other stuff with the pc.
Today, however, I have totally lost sync.
For a few months now, I have not been able to connect to my P910 through the desktop icon to transfer files etc, but this is not a major problem as long as I can transfer files to and from the memory stick and put this in my PC.
However, today, as I said, I can't even sync with outlook.

What happens is: the phone connection link icon in the systray animates when I put the phone in the syncstation, then it stops.
Clicking on it tells me that a phone is connected on USB port (right now it says only IR port (not connected) and USB port (com 1000!!!)
Up until now, it used to be com3 as always, don't know why it suddenly is com1000....

The little phone icon no longer shows up in the systray once connecting the phone.
Also, if I try to use the backup/restore thing, all options are grey.

Basically the whole system is telling me I have no phone connected, but the phone connection link in the systray says it is....

How can I uninstall all this crap and start from scratch?? I must have done this 10 times already today through the control panel etc.

I have the newest SE communications suite downloaded from the net, and I've tried both this, and the one on the CD (after uninstalling, rebooting, removing syncstation drivers and all that) but so far I'm in the dark.

It would be good to not have to reformat the whole PC.

Thanks for any help!

Frode

There are many threads on that issue. Use the search.

Hi frobe.Had the exact same problem!!First of all uninstall your pc suite and your Semc dss station from your pc.You will be promped to remove your usb cable at sometime.Do it.While restarting your pc put your usb cable back and put your phone on the syncstation.Once your pc turns on, insert your pc suite cd and install it.Your pc will recognize that your usb and dss station are connected and will install the drivers for these. You will be prompted to restart your pc again (keep you phone on your station) After that your pc will "see" your phone and ask you to name it! In your control panel you should see the Phone monitor options you should see your phone name and the com port.See wich com your usb is on and enable it.In the setup folder select (always display the icon) hope in being of any help!!

Good advice if the search facility on Esato was a little more effective!
