I've received a few promos lately for renting DVDs, one from
sendit.com (who used to be blackstar.com) and today from
iwantoneofthose.com
both are promoting
ScreenSelect and for £9.99/month you can have 1 DVD out at a time, for £12.99 you can have 3 and for £14.99 you can have 3 out a time.
It seems thats all you pay, its even free return postage for the DVD(s)
As someone who buys many DVDs per month (we have close to 1000 now) this seems like a very good option since we do buy some that we only ever watch once.
So I am just curious if anyone uses this service or is there a better one in UK and do people have any complaints about these DVD rental places etc etc etc...
Any info appreciated before I decide to join
ta!

ive never tried those services but i keep getting stuff off blockbuster
they seem to have an intro offer of 14.99 a month for unlimited rentals (not sure of the price after that)
they offer a free postage service back and you can keep the dvd 3-5 nights depending on the title.

i used to use screen select.
They were pretty prompt, hmm what did it turn out to be (how many dvd's could I get in a month)
Lets say you watch one as soon as you receive it.
So recieve and watch, next day sent, third day they get it, third-fourth day they send one back to you, 5th day you receive it. and so on.
So you end up getting 1 dvd every 5 days. or 6 dvds a month, or 12 or 18.
I just ended up getting tired of the hassle.

There are loads of places that do this:
tesco
amazon
whsmith
Seem to have good offers.
They come straight to you door with a free return envelope, i dont watch hardly any dvds as i prefer tv programmes instead.
I know loads of people that use these services though and they seem perfectly happy with it.
