Ok a question asked bbefore, but the reason why i purchased a t68 is due to the fact that Ericssom have formed alliance with SONY i was woundering if anyone had bought there t68 for the same reason.

Well, I first saw it on the net after the Cebit show in March 2001. I was mainly interested in what business phone Nokia would be offering. I was using a 6210 and when all Nokia really had to offer was the 6310 I had a little look around.

On the Ericsson stand was the T68 and from the pictures it blew everything else out of the water. Size, weight colour display and features. Nokia's offerings didn't stand a chance.

A friend of mine got deliveries of T68 in his phone shop in Oct 2001 and told me to forget all other phones, take a day off work and come and see this beauty. I did and instantly bought one. Haven't regretted it since.

I saw this phone on an add.
Then on the SonyEricsson website and there I totally felt in love for this phone.
I went 2 days after in a shop and baught one in occasion for 220$US.
The phone had only two weeks old.

I had been waiting for a triple band phone with an internal antenna. Nokia did not deliver, Ericsson did. Now the T68 calendar, getting my email via GPRS, and color screen have changed my concept about cell phones. It will be a lot harder for Nokia to win me back than it was for me to switch from Nokia to T68. A note to Nokia: very few people may really need the triple band (business, academics) but they travel a lot and meet people a lot.

I didn't know that Sony had teamed up with Ericsson until I got the phone home.

I remember someone said to me "have you seen the new Ericsson colour screen phone" I said no and when looking for it.

I found it in a Vodafone shop, I had a play around with it in the shop and thought that this is the phone I'm going to get.

I saw it first in a TV commercial and then of course on internet. I had some problems with my Nokia 8210 and thought that it was good time to change the handset. So, I walked in a store, I saw both T68 and Nokia 8310. Of course, as you can understand, Nokia got no chance at all compared to .
The fact that Sony and Ericsson joined their forces for the cellular market didn't affect my decision at all. Cause it is a strategic alliance not anything else. Sony wants to enter the Europan market, they have the money, but not the right product to do so. Ericsson is an established European company they have the right product & technology, but of course not the Sony's money and size . So, the joint was a necessity. Eventually will become the No1 player in cellular market!
