hi, i've been looking through your huge forum for a few weeks and i've learnt my phone has R1C004 firmware. i've been on the se site and followed the instructions to upgrade the phone.

i can get all the way through (downloading the bits it asks etc) and i get right too the point where it says to hold down c and plug the cable in. i do this and the phone comes on, after a few seconds it pops up with the usual windows 'what would you like to do' dialogue box but nothing else. i left it on over night once just in case the '15 seconds' was optimistic!!

i've got XP no sure which sp but its 2 at least

any ideas??

i'm using the standard cable if it makes a difference.

i think i need to remove the driver that windows has automagically put in and replace it with the update service driver. how can i get rid of the driver totally because each time i try i plug the phone back in and it auto installs the drivers. i don't even get a say...
