Returned my K750i due to dust behind the screen about 3 weeks ago and had a new one. Noticed today that this one now has bloody dust behind the screen. I keep the phone in a non dusty enviroment and it's well looked after.....I find this really annoying.
Have decided that I am just going to put up with it as seems will just happen again. Come on SE, how hard would it be to make a sealed screen?

I'm afraid this has been a common drawback of nearly all phones i've used and tried...except for the P-series maybe... The t230 was the worst in this department.. should seriously ponder over this nagging shortcoming..

Getting dust under the screen in 3 weeks, while at the same time stating to take good care of your phone and keeping it in dustfree environment, is really a contridiction in terms.
If its a dustfree environment, then where do the dust come from.

I never ever had dust under the screen of any phone I have owned, and I've owned many. My old T310, T610 and K700 still looks and functions as brandnew, and so does all my phones. No dust, no joystickproblems, no scratches.

Use a proper mobile carrying case, with antistatic covering inside, instead of keeping it in pockets, purses or other strange places where many keeps them.

Pockets are static dust magnets, they kill joysticks with dust, and dust creaps under the screen, they kill phones with static electricity or moist from sweat.

Fully agree with numb on the contradiction in terms. I am not aware of any components or porcesses in the manufacturing of handsets (SE or other) that could generate dust internally. For dust to enter the (relatively) protected phone and appear inside the screen, the poor thing must have been subjected to lots of dust.

My experience also confirms that - none of my phones ever (the most recent being SE: a T68i, then z600, now S700i) have had any dust behind their screens. And I don't even use those anti-static cases and even carry the phones (shock horror!).. in my pockets: trouser, jacket or overcoat - as per season. In my extensive travels I even go to some pretty.. dusty countries. Not a single dot inside my screens.

I have to admit I thought I had a particle inside my Z600 lens - making a black dot on pictures, but it turned out to be a 'dead' pixel (or several) on the CCD.

Just keep your phones outside dustbins, guys - and try not to swim with them, that's all the care they need!

Cheerz,
Abe

i have many SE phones also... and my t610 and t630 i used in harsh conditions. no case, in my pocket wiht other stuff, frequently in dusty enviornments, and i have never had dust behind my screen... the only dusty part was the dust and stuff in the ear piece... nothing ever behind the screen.

Thats strange.. My friends K7 was cleaned thrice and from the next day dust starts entering the screen. He tried various methods to stop it and finally ended up selling the phone. And he took good care of his phones.. Although the same cannot be said for my T230, i had it cleaned twice too...but from the second day itself, dust started accumulating inside. Do note that i haven't faced these kinda problems with my now five month old nokia.

Yup same here, i carry my phone everywhere, with my psp also, to work and back every day, psp perfecr, k750i, full of dust???? Strange, but then my nokia used to do it to....

Strange thing is, i must polish my house like 5 times a week, there is not a spec of dist, i guess it comes from your pockets and stuff.

And not every phone is the same, tiny imperfections in the case, or the cover mounting, can mean all the difference per phone.
