why does the camera button flash when you open the lense? and why is there that green dot in top left corner that flashes?

I wouls assume that the camera button flashes when you optn the shutter so that you can easily find it at night. As for the blinking green dot, it's an indicator telling you that the autofocus is active and when it turns solid everything is in focus.
