i wanted to try my old GPS receiver on route 66 .. but it didnt work! does the GPS receiver need some special technical feature to work with R66? like support for 16 sats?

anyone got a list of compatible R66 GPS receivers?
i have the globalsat BT-308 btw

It should work with most bluetooth receivers.
Did Route66 find the GPS when it did a search for bluetooth devices?

yes it did .. but only then the GPS receiver wants to start transfering GPS-data, Route66 stops working

I believe GPS can run in two modes...NMEA and Sirf.
Route66 will use NMEA but some PC programs will use Sirf - maybe the wrong protocol is set?
You can check this if you have bluetooth on a PC, or just drain the battery and leave discharged for 48hrs.

Why would that happen? I have no probs getting traffic updates while bluetooth connected to the GPS (and it's not the R66 unit). Is your phone trying to connect to the internet via bluetooth? I don't think the phone can handle multiple BT connections.....

so do you have a new one that works?
do you have a BT headset as only 1 bt connection is allowed
