I was with ATT and had to switch to Cingular (in Oklahoma). My K700i was working great while i was on ATT, but now i don't recieve all my TXT msgs and i don't get notified that i have voice mail. Do you guys think it's Cingular or just a coincidence?

I had the same problem with my k700i. you will need to reconfigure the phone to except the mail settings from the cingular network. Use the cingular site to send the correct setings to your phone. Just wondering how your phone works in Oklahoma? When I bought the k700i everyone I talked with told me I would be sorry because it did not receive the 850 frequency. It has worked flawlessly, and I wished either AT&T or Cingular offered it. They offered the Siemen's S46 & Motorla MPX200 and both of these did not offer the 850 band. Well anyway hope this helps....

While i was AT&T the phone worked perfectly...as soon as i got onto cingular i started getting these problems.
I changed my message service # from +13123149810 to +13123149870. I'll let you know if it works.
I love the k700i, I'm not sure what FRQ AT&T was using, but it's the best phone i've ever had. saving up for the w800!

I live in the Boston area and I use a K750i currently. I used a K700i when I first switched to Cingular from AT&T early this year and had no trouble at all. But couple weeks back, I stopped receiving any kind of incoming services (calls, text messages, voicemails, etc.). If someone would call me, my phone would not ring, but the call would be directed to my voicemail. They would leave a voice message for me but my phone would not notify me of a new voicemail and the same with the text messages. All outgoing calls worked perfectly fine though and my phone showed excellent reception as always with 4 bars. I tried power-cycling my phone, I used my K700i and it was still the same. However everything worked fine when I used my T616 or Nokia 3200(b) (phones with 850 MHz frequency). Anyway, I called Cingular and told them about the problem without mentioning my trials with the 850 MHz phones. The rep asked me to turn my phone off and sent some kind of information or message (so he said) to my phone and then asked me to power it up. After it was powered up, he called my cell phone and I could receive the call.
Shoei, you could possibly be facing the same problem. Call customer care and get it sorted out. Good luck!

I talked to a rep and they said that my phone wasn't recieving all updates (Have no idea what that means). So he did something on computer and had me reboot my phone (Told me to leave it off for 30 seconds). We'll see if that helps. Thanks guys!

No worries dude. I live about 60 miles south of Boston and mostlt 850 MHz too. My K700i & K750i have been working great except for that 1 day in almost a year (after switching to Cingular from AT&T) that I wasnt able to receive calls. I am glad the problem could be fixed and Cingular did fix it!

Yeah, i'm glad too. Now the only thing holding me back from getting an w800i is the cash flow.
But that will come in soon....hopefully.

You will find the money dude! Thats what I have always done when it comes to getting somethin I crave! I would have got myself a W800i too, but I am happy with my K750i and I have to travel to India in Nov which has gotten me saving up for tickets and gifts, lol! Moreover, 3 new phones a year is a lot to ask for. Theres people who think I am crazy because I spend 4, maybe 5 times much as an average person would spend on a cell phone when I could be saving up or paying my gradschool debts. I have never regretted it!
