i was wondering if there are better media players for the 910,...or updates to the current packet video viewer. I noticed that cystal player but the quality is crap.,....which may be wh the fram rate is so,high but some of the vids that you guys encode are supurb and some are okay,.....was wondering if there was another palyer or codec for the 910 that would give me even better performance.

The qualily is normally due to the video, not the player. If you get the encoding right then packet video works fine for Mp4.

Smart Movie is better overall though, because it plays avi files encoded in xvid & 3ivx which are better quality than Mp4.

Yeah a agree with mad_bob, the quality of video is the main problem, packet player is the best since it won't take extra space on P900 memory

It doesn't take extra /storage/ space. It will, however, gobble up its share of RAM when started.

I think he meant that the actual prog wont take extra space on the drive because it comes preinstalled. Where as a 3rd party app will need its installation space.

Yo, yo... we're talking about quality and p910, wich has a lot of ram, so the ram should be the problem for me cause I have p800. Even with p800, the ram is not a problem. The player is not so good! If you make a movie at a little bit higher bitrate, then the quality drops because the cpu, buffer, or pvplayer ( mostly pvplayer ). It would be great if would apear an update, or a media player to support a lot of codecs, smartmovie it's a piece of art, it's to bad that it's support only xvid, divx, and not mp3, ogg, mpeg1/2, wmv, wma, etc., and streaming

The divx files have to be converted specificly for the smartmovie software. The easiest way is by using the converter that comes with it. You can get films etc from serchive. The link is on my site.

Greetings everyone...

In WM2k3 & WM2k3 for Smartphone platforms there is Beta Player application which is the best audio/video player I ever know.

Now... is there any Beta Player for the SymbianOS UIQ platform?
