I just got a few quetions to ask bout cars...
The new Z4 318ti and some VW beetles/polos have one reverse light! Anyone know whats the reason for this??
Why do Japanese cars have its exhaust on the right while German cars have it on the left?

My car has two reversing lights, though there are quite a few that do only have one, and the other is a foglight or something.
Some Japanese cars imported to the UK (usually older ones, and Hyundais for some reason) have the indicator and windscreen wiper stalks on the opposite side to UK cars - the indicator stalk is usually on the left hand side of the wheel, but on these it's on the right hand side!

The exhaust is always on the passenger side away from pedestrians. Unless dual exhaust is fitted.
Edit: In Germany the passenger side is the RHS

The light story, theres no space restraints, I think its a way on cutting costs (A very stupid way) coz a BMW 318 has one reverse light and the 325 has 2!! the Z4 2.5 has one and the 3.0 has 2!!?? And Golf 5, the 1.6 and 2.0 all have one and the 2.0 FSI and GTi has 2!!!

The indicators are to be used by the hand that doesn't operate the gear lever. Unless it's a RHD version of a LHD car and vice versa.
