Hi All!
I am desperately waiting for my TomTom Mobile 5 to arrive since the 5 week delivery period is almost up and I am starting to make prepartions for a seamless install into my car. I currently use an official in car holder but i`m worried that the sound of the voice directions will be muffled and unclear when in this holder.
I have been looking at various methods of outputting the voice to my car stereo using the red and white aux in connectors on the back of the stereo but I am having problems getting the sound out of the base connector in the phone.
I recently bought these connectors:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/3763.htm
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/2230.htm
When the first adaptor is plugged into the side of the phone, it functions fine and the sound is output, but when using the second adaptor to use the headphone output on the bottom of the phone, the words handsfree is displayed on the screen but the sound still comes from the phone speaker.
Does anybody know if the base connector on the bottom of the phone can be made to function in the same way as the side connector?
Also, it would be a nice feature if the phone would remain lit when in the car holder, it doesnt seem to do this at the moment since I am using the HCB-30 bluetooth car kit.
I would be very grateful if anyone could shed some light on this for me because i would much rather use the base connector than the side connector for ease of use.
Thanks,
Ric.

I don't think you can.
If I'm right (and I usually am), the base connector will only do the sound for calls, but not multimedia.
As for the light, does anyone know if the TomTom software has a setting for this? I've only used MapViewGPS and SmartComGPS, which have a setting that keeps the light on when you're running that app.
