I don't believe that, I'm not the technical kind of guy, but I don't think it's technically possible to reduce colors... or am I mistaken?

That shouldnt be too surprising.

Only the images are viwed in 262k colours ....like uin the P910 .
In all other cases 65k colours are used.

precisely.....the 262k mode is only used while viewing images.....for all other purposes the phone is set to display in 65k mode

The P910 white paper clearly states this about using 262k colours only while viewing full screen images but there is no mention of it in the K750 white paper at all so I wonder if its not simply that jbenchmark is giving the incorrect details

jbenchmark has nothing to do with pictures at all.
It meassures java speed by running a series of tests in a javaapplet
The reason jbenchmark says 65k colors is because javaapps only runs in 65k colors.

You remember wrong

Colors of the K750 has not been changed and firmware has nothing to do with it.

jbenchmark allways show 65536 colors on every phone with 65536 colors and above, simply because its a java test, and the javamicroedition profile/platform do not support 262k colors. The max supported colors in j2me are 65536 colors.

It has nothing to do with the number of colors the phone can display in all other situations.

go to the jbenchmark site and view all the results for other phones also with 262k colors, they all read 65536 colors in the jbenchmark test.

heres an example using samsung D600
http://www.jbenchmark.com/phonedetails.jsp?D=Samsung%20SGH-D600

Thank you numb !!!
I was really affraid about this ! now i'm ok !
Now, my only one problem is with the GPRS !
it hangs sometimes and sometimes it work okay
never i had this before with T630, K700i
since i bought my k750i, R1J002, i'm having this problem
Next, i updated to R1L002 and now, i'm on R1N035 and still the same
Sometimes, at lauching, sometimes when connected, and sometimes at disconnecting ... the GPRS signal hangs (i can hear tata, tata, tata.... on my home speakers when i put it close to them).
even if i put the phone off, it still the same ! then i remove the battery and put it again and on !
Now i found a tip to get over it, i do *# then call it return an network error but, seconds after, it disconnect and then i'll be able to use GPRS (for wap, internert, mms, emails, java apps...)
I dont know when SE will fix this problem !
