When I want to view streaming windows media audio or video using Internet Explorer 6, I get the 'Illegal Operation' message of which the details are: EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
module MSDXM.OCX at 017f:64b6152c.

And after I click 'close' I get the following message: An error has occurred in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer will now close. If you continue to experience problems, please restart your computer.
I am using Windows 98 & windows media player version 7.1.
Thanks

I have reinstalled media player but not IE. I have the same problem with netscape & opera so I don't think it has anything to with IE?
Thanks

one thing you can test is a reinstallation of Win98... if you just reinstall it in the same directory it just replace the systemfiles and leave everything else where it is... you might need to reinstall IE after it, if it's not IE 6 that's included in the Win installation

I also got some sort of problems like yours before!
I installed some chinese input software which should help me in viewing chinese or japanese chracters but turns out to be a failure.
To make matter worst, it displayed only codes when I go to such websites.
All I can say is that if all the methods can't work, format.
I did that!

Also download the latest patch for IE... sometimes that fixes the problems.
