Hi all, I have a problem.
I want to back up the contacts on my K700i onto my PC via BlueTooth but the screen is totally knackered. Can anybody tell me the key sequences to switch on Bluetooth and to make the device visable (I know how to open up the conectivity menu but am stuck after that). Also stuff like at what point I will need to pair the devices and how to change to sync order so that it's first name first rather than last name first.
If you can help it would be very much appreciated.

1.dl and install float's mobile agent 2 2.on k700 press 'options' then '2' which will turn bt on 3.if using xp drivers just open bluetooth in control panel and search, initiate pairing, enter e.g. '1111' repeat that on phone and press left soft key 4.then just connect fma and synchronise, you'll get what you want This message was posted from a T610

I'm not sure if that's a 100% bulletproof solution.
If you use FMA, it might be a good idea to syncronize your phonebook with FMA, as described above, but then also syncronize FMA with Outlook (if you have Outlook). Especially if you're buying a new phone and want to transfer your contacts back to that one, but also in case you loose the contacts on your K700 and FMA things you really meant to do this, and thus removes everything from FMA also.

Otherwise you could try out the "K700 little helper" at http://k700.hitziger.net/

Good luck.

Where are you based? if it's the UK or near the UK I might be interested in that K700i if the rest of it still works OK

i forgot to say after synchronising, you can select all phone contacts on the right, right-click and choose to save them as .vcf cards on pc. This message was posted from a T610

Thanks for the advice I will give it a go but need to clarify a couple of points.

'Options' is the right soft key isn't it? is option 2 always used to switch on Bluetooth (it doesn't change depending on branding)? The screen doesn't work at all so I can't check.
What if I've set my phone to undiscoverable (I can't remember if I have or not), what keystrokes to switch it back to visible?

Can anyone tell me how to change the sync order between Firstname/Surname & Surname/Firstname?

The Sony Ericsson website used to have the phone's interface so you could try it online, does this still exist and if so does anyone know the URL cos I've had a search and can't find it.

(Sammy Boy - I'm in Leeds and the phone, apart from the screen, works fine)

I found the 'Try the phone option' but our work firewall won't allow Shockwave player. Bugger!

cant you disable the firewall? i see in lots of troubleshoot guides where firewall blocks it, that you can just disable the firewall

I think that might be against company policy, would certainly not be approved of.
