Hello
I got a P910i about 6 months ago, and everything works fine except for the fact that I cant transfer files between the phone and my PC. When I put it in the cradle it can sync my phone book but thats all. I dont really care about syncing email programs or anything like that but I was under the impression I could move files from my computer onto the phone and vica versa however I cannot find any way of doing so.
Although the phone icon comes up in the tray (and the little black squiggly lines) the icon on the desktop always says "phone not connected". Its really driving me mental.
I emailed sony and they where no help whatsoever.
Im not running virus software or a firewall (I like living on the wildside) and so it cant be anything like that blocking it.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Used to happen to me at some point.Don't know how it appeared or why it went away but it's fine again.I used to restart the pc and it wold be fine.It might be the fact that the sync st. doesntmake contact with pc very well thru the usb. That's the only thing i can think about.

Hey
Thanks for the nice welcome!
Yep I get both of those icons and I can sync my contacts and back up via that.
I cant work out how to exchange files or anything like that though. Oh and with the phone I got software that you could premake MMS with and then send it to the phone, I tried to use that and it said the phone wasnt connected despite both of those icons showing at the bottom.
My phone is mental, or my computer or possibly both.
Any suggestions?

Hi!Same problem with me! Uninstall your pc suite.Beware because it will ask you to remove your usb cable at one moment.Do it and after restarting your pc again insert your usb cable again.Follow the pc suite install instructions and be carefull, as the wizard will detect your usb cable and your DSS Syncstation and will ask you to install the drivers.Your phone ,after the restart of your pc,HAS to be on the sync station!!!!That's when your pc will recognize your phone and ask you to name it.

I found that if you not bothered about syncing (like myself) the best and quickest way (because the sync station is so slow) just get a card reader.

Mad Bob speaks sanely!
Get a card reader, takes seconds to transfer MP3 - as opposed to minutes using the syncstation. A 100MB avi file takes about 3 minutes with a card reader, about 30 mins with the syncstation!
Although I've never had a problem with mine, 2 pals can't get there's to sync.
