I'm used to a brandless, unlocked P800, and considering an upgrade to a P910 on Vodafone. As I understand it, I can expect to get branded software on the new phone - but just how bad is it? Is any of the functionality impaired, or is it just a case of different startup screens and theme which can be changed? Does every menu option take you off to Vodafone Live constantly like some of the other branded phones I've seen, or do they allow us P-series owners a bit more freedom?

The Vodafone branding on my P910i is virtually non-existant. Pressing the browser button even brings up a seamingly 'default' sony ericsson homepage.
Compared to my old T68i, Vodafone is barely noticeable.

Yep, my pal has a p910 on Vodaphone, mine is on Orange. The Orange branding stinks: icons are terrible, homepage was hated until I learnt how to get rid of it. As in the above posts, the Voda branding was hardly noticeable comparitively.

Well one issue I have noticed with the Vodafone branded 910i is that I cannot replace the default GPRS profile with the one I want (for Cingular). It is locked and cannot be overwritten, so even though I have GPRS on Cingular, I cannot access it. Apart from that I agree that the branding is pretty much non-existant, I even swapped out my UK voda sim for my US cingular sim with no issues (apart from above).

So can you share what you learnt? @ Mat69- how to '... get rid' of... > @Tim> You mean there is only the CSD dial up route for you to use net on your phone ! Ouch! Thats 15-20% higher than even the normal call charge rates here.. This message was posted from a S700
