Im trying to install the Sony Ericsson D750/K750/W800 Update Service USB driver from
http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]1&pid=10242&fid=15278&esi=true

The trouble is on the 6th Installation instruction Windows found new hardware wizard doesnt open, why would this be? instead when I hold "c" and plug the usb cable in an F drive appears.

I have already installed the PC Suite and drivers on that cd. What could be the problem with the wizard not opening?

You also need to install the USB drivers that are on the SE website and not on the CD.

Yes that is the same link as I was looking at - trouble is as I said windows found new hardware wizard doesnt open. Any idea what could be wrong? or how to make the wizard pop up.

I worked it out, I just used a different USB port and the wizard popped up and I have that now.

One other little thing - is the correct way to update firmware with or without the sim card inside? reason I ask is because at service centers they dont ask you for your sim card to be in the phone but I notice that the PC suite notices the sim isnt inside the handset and asks for it to be put in.

Dear oh dear...

I have updated my handset after getting all the drivers that I need but now I have found the PC suite not to open as I wanted to transfer a file to it. I have uninstalled PC suite and reinstalled it but getting the drivers back on are impossible. Are there any usefull troubleshooting steps about or better instructions than whats on the se site for getting this to work? My windows found new hardware wizard just wont open like before - it just wont start automatically. Basically I was just wanting to have pc suite all nicely set up for the next software upgrade. Any advice on this would be great. Thanks

This is really doing my nut - I have never had so much bother with any software than like the se pc suite.

Updating firmware help please? will the update put the games back on the phone? I did a master reset and lost a lot of things. As for the update I have all the drivers and files installed, but I am getting communication errors.

Once you perform a master reset/rest all

oooops you loose all... No update upgrade is going to add content the firmware does not bring....

However I read somewhere that you can get the games on again by asking the right people for it....

I am not the right person....
