I wanted to change my housing to a pink one. Managed to disassemble the phone by following some instructions I found online. However, I managed to also break the rubber at the back of the power button! I know the phone still thoretically works as when I charge it, the screen lights up and it charges, but I cant switch the phone on and I even tried to press whatever is under the power button, which I thought would power it up, but it didnt work. Any suggestions would be very appreciated! Thanks

Any chance of getting a new cover, then following the steps correctly and with greater care?

well, I have tried to put the original cover back on, but it still doesnt work. All I really want to do is be able to switch it on one last time so that I can get all my contacts...which were stored on the phone

Sorry mate, I guess now its a lesson to be learned from the mistake you have made by trying to be technician, I think you should take it to your nearest authorised repair center.

Any chance of some pictures of the phone? It might be easier to determine what could be done if we can see the issues in question...

Now would be a good time to consider a replacement housing... If the current housing-replacement job has caused one problem it may well lead to another, so possibly it's due for a visit to a repair centre, hmmm?
