Ok I am trying to find a really good step down transformer, I just bought some stuff from Japan and the step down transformer is useless it overheats after an hour and shuts itself off.
I need to have it on continousley and wanted to know if there are any sparkies that know more about amps and volts and what where and who//

Yeah your nano case,,,mmm trust me I did look but I was taken a back by this gun shop that just opened in Akiba..crazy man..they are all air guns but these things look so damn real..but anyway back to the topic.. yeah my mates are lookin into it for you sorry for the delay

il rephrase that, A new store opened in Akihabhara Tokyo its a massive shopping city with everything you can imagine (il post a pic later) and they are selling the most realistic air rifles and guns you can imagine..from pistols to sub machine guns..and these things have the look and weight of the real thing,,really sweet..I would have bought one but Virgin wants you to call them a day in advance before you fly and notify them that you will have this item..but sadly it was a Holiday in Japan so I couldnt get hold of them so that what I meant

Look at the power ratings for all of the devices that you want to run off the transformer (should be in Watts) and add them all together. Then, buy a transformer with a power rating HIGHER (not the same) as that figure.
The only thing to remember is that devices that run on 110v operate at a higher current than those on 240v although the step down transformer should take this into account (made with thicker wires!)

The transformer that needs to run the wireless headphones has the following specs.
Input: AC 100V 50/60Hz 26VA
Output: DC 12V 1000mA
The step down transformer has the following specs
AC110V-130V/220V-240V
MAX=30W
Know I was on the assumption that the 26VA of the transformer would be ok for the 30W on the step down transformer..I guess thats not the case.

The step down transformer and the power supply both operate within tolerences, usually +/- 10%. Even though it should still be fine, I suggest you get 50W step down transformer as it is a little close to the knuckle.

Do you reckon I will be able to leave it on 24/7 or will it burn out..and another option would be to try and find one of those multi voltage adaptors and cut and paste the extension lead for the headphones there..mm then again I better leave that to a pro.
I will check Maplins website and see if they have anything close the 50W bracket and il post my finds back here shortly.
