> HBH-608 vs Bluespoon AX
Bookmark topic
Ok, my HBH-30 died a natural death and I'm now looking for a new BT headset.
I'm looking at the Bluespoon AX or the new HBH-608.
I've heard some bad reviews on the AX regarding mic volume being very weak to the other party.
Has anyone done a comparison with the new HBH-608 & the AX?
On my secondary list is the HBH-300 and the HBH-610. I'm iffy on the 300 since I'm looking for something smaller than my hbh30, and I heard that the 610's auto volume thing is still buggy.

I've been through most of the

HBH headsets and even now still have the HBH-60 and HBH-660 and was always put off the bluespoon products because they looked like little beatles and I assumed that

headset would offer the best compatibility
a couple of months back I got the AX and was impressed immediately. Sound clarity is excellent and its very unobtrusive and I find it keeps a connection with my phones much better than any

headset ever did.
So I can thoroughly recommend it.
There is one headset I am looking forward to get soon and thats the AX2 which now supports bluetooth 1.2, has better range and quite a bit extra battery life. I'm hoping to get a beta model shortly so will comment more at that time
for now, the AX can be got for £30 and to me thats a bargain for what you get. btw, the AX comes with a USB to mini USB cable for charging which is neat

Outta curiosity, if it’s a case of the HBH-608 vs the HBH-300, which is better? Isn’t the 608 newer? But I heard the 300 has noise-canceling tech, no?

Yes the 608 is newer but it's a different line all together. The HBH 30, 35, and 300 are more "performance" oriented. They have longer mic booms, and much longer battery times than the other HBH models.
The 608, 60, 65, 660...etc... are all smaller "lifestyle" models. Where size & weight are a bigger consideration.
I was able to try the BS AX... it was really clear on my end, just like all BS units... but receiving party had a hard time hearing me at times... I had to talk quite loudly, not shout... but I couldn't whisper without getting a "what?" on the other end.
I decided to go with the HBH-608. Larger than the AX, and I still don't get why they still use the green LEDs instead of blue (you'd think design teams at SE would stick to using blue for Bluetooth devices)
