> Msi Bluetooth and T68i Help Please
Bookmark topic
OK, so I followed all the advice I have read on this forum. My MSI Bluetooth arrived today. I am running Win98SE, so I downloaded the latest S/W from MSI homepage and installed that.
I Put the USB Bluetooth Adapter in, and the PC recognised it, no probs. I did the Setup->security thing and paired the devices, no probs. I added a new bluetooth connection in 'My bluetooth places', no probs.
I then double clicked on the T68i Serial Port 2 connection, and it connects to my phone no problems.
Now what.
I run Sendfile, it tells me I have no phone connected.
I run the Sony Ericsson picture editor, it tells me I have no phone connected.
I run the XTNDConnectPC, it tells me I have no phone connected (and then eventually crashes - nice one!)
I go back to the 'My Bluetooth Places', and it tells me my phone is still happily connected (to COM3). I went into the Mobile Phone Monitor setup (which never seems to run by the way, despite many re-boots, and phone power cycles, with deleting current pairings and reconnecting etc.) and played around with enabling/disabling lots of com ports etc. to no avail.
This thing is driving me nuts. If Sendfile tells me there is no phone connected one more time .......
Anyway, I am guessing the root of all my problems is that Mobile Phone Monitor is not running. The only software that seems to have loaded is in the start->settings->control panel. When I run this, there seems to be nothing happening in it either.
Will someone please tell me what should be happening, and how to fix this, before my phone becomes permanently connected to my PC up one of its unfortunate serial ports !!!
Pleeeease help....
cheers
PS. Extra information - after reading some more posts about the new MSI S/W, I uninstalled and installed the S/W that came on the CD, but it did exactly the same thing....

hi
open your MPM properties in control panel . Mark at show icon at the task bar.
Restart your comp.
Connect your phone with your comp using serial port connection
Wait for 5 mins
Open your SendFile program
Wait for 5 - 10 mins
A small handphone icon will show on the lower right of your task bar
A Windows will pop up ask you fill in your SIM and Phone name.
Wait....
Wait until the small black handphone icon change to a handphone with a green mark icon
then you can start use your SendFile program
hope this will help you

Ahhh, thanks for the help it seems to get a bit further, but ....
As soon as I think its gonna do something I get BSoD
Exception 0E in VxD
Called from VxD VCOMM(04)
basically SonyEricsson S/W has butt-f**ked my PC .....
Any ideas what to de-install... I have de-installed anything obvious, but I still get the little black phone in the tray when I startup Sendfile or something similar....
This really doesn't look good at all. There is no way I am rebuilding my machine from scratch just to get this working.
I am really getting p***ed off.

OK, so I de-installed everything, and started from scratch.
1.Put a new VXCOMM.DLL on my PC from the web
2.Installed the SonyEricsson R3A software (just modem settings)
3.Installed MSI 1.2.2.15 software
4.Installed MSI's Mobilet software (for using instaead of SonyEricsson picture editor or Sendfile).
Now it kind of works. I managed to get some photos onto the phone from all applications, although I still get the PC crash and hang sometimes when using MPM (Mobilet doesn't use it)
Now just to try and get Screen savers working ....

if you installed XTND Connect for Ericsson, the XTND Connect phone icon in the task bar must be stopped,as it conflicts with MPM.
