HI,

Great forum. I've done search but did not find a resolution to my problem. My P900's screen crapped out on me last week. It went blank after I connected it to the charger in my car. The phone still works but cannot see 5hit.

I'm in Chicago, USA and I would like to know if there's a repair center here. And for those that had this problem, what was the fix? I could cares less for the phone since I've had it for a while now and it's time for an upgrade BUT I need my contacts. I have no back up since I had a hard time connecting the P900 to my comp. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I was going to suggest you install Remote DEsktop to your phone ("blind" just by scrolling etc, to run the prog - whihc isnt that hard) then at least you could "see" the screen on your PC, but even then, you mentioned you can't backup.

How about installing Remote DEsktop & synchronising with outlook to get your contacts?

Check your PM mate.

As for opening and running Remote control "Blind" heres how!....

(assuming your fone is switched on an (hopefully) on the normal applications menu screen)

Install RemoteP900 to your phone, via the PC of course! Then install Setup-RemoteP910-1.44.171104 for your PC.

1) Pull the jog button towards you three times (maybe switch the fone off and on again to make sure it starts at the correct drop down menu)
2) scrol all the way down, then up 1

this will take you to the "unfiled" application list (where the newly installed remote thing should be. (Hopefully this is the only program in this folder, otherwise you may have to do a bit of trial and error for the next few steps)

3) RemoteP900 should now be running and thats it, no need to do anything else.
4) Place the phone in the cradle, if not already.
5) Run Remote P910 from your PC.
6) Click START, to, mmm start.

Hopefully, you should see your fon eon your PC to "do stuff with"!

If not, then it must be bacause the Remot P910 software on the fone didnt open - maybe because there are aother programs in the "unfiled" folder. - simply scroll down n + 1 when you navigate to that folder and try that.

All the best. Good luck!!!

Jon

...or just install the SE-software on another computer, to make a back-up.
I had to do it that way, since it stopped working on my computer and no uninstalls/reinstalls seemed to help.
So i just plugged that cradle in to another PC to connect to my P910.
Worked fine for me and that should be possible even with screen malfunction.

Thanks guys.

Jon, I have a P900....the zip file you sent and instructions you gave me are for P910. Do I need to worry about any differences of the two phones? Thanks.
