Do you mean updating the firmware or a master reset?
If updating the firmware (the software in the phone) search for SEUS.
For a master reset make sure you have the phones lock code first.
Doing a master reset will get rid off all of the stuff you have added to the phone, games and pictures ringtones etc, since the phone was purchased.
