Hi i got a quantum theory question. I know how to do it but i need to find out the energy level for
n=9
for Hydrogen in electron volts.. or joules. I have looked through 5 or 6 texts books bu they only list values to n=7
Anyone happen to know it? lol
Thanks

n is the energy level? Has it occured to you that anything higher than n=7 would mean the electron is no longer bonded with the atom, the proton in this case. I'm pretty sure i'm not mistaken.

ahh found an equation to work it out...
En= -13.6/n squared

perhaps... but this is a hypothetical assignment question. doesnt have to be plausible

Just a thought- is it theoretically possible to achieve that level of energy release? My physics is slightly outdated, but i don't seem to recall such a figure...
