> Playing videos from memory stick
Bookmark topic
Hey,
I encoded a very nice video using nero recoder. When I copy a short clip of it to the phone memory, I can play it no problem, but when I copy it to the video folder on the memory card, I cannot play it. It doesn't come up under the file manager or the walkman video.
The actual file is 70Mb so I can't put it on the phone memory. Disc2Phone has no video options as far as I can tell and the Sony Ericsson File Manager software only lets me copy to the phone memory.
Any ideas?

you sure you've copied it to the video folder ?
I have no problem in playing them from either file manager or walkman

my fault - they don't appear until you've disconnected the phone. bah.
on another note, when playing it full screen the file freezes after a few seconds and then says 'playback failed'
i assume this is because the phone can't handle the resizing to full screen res, but as I understand it the phone only plays QCIF compatible files, and therefore I can't even make a video that is full size in the first place.

Playback in full screen fails because the videos total datarate is to high. Lower the bitrate of either video or audio. Or increase minimum keyframe interval from the default 5 to 50.
Max total datarate should not exceed 244kbit/s when using standard memorycard, or 264kbit/s when using high speed gaming memorycards.
