Yes it does!

There's quite a few differences, most strikingly in the form factor / design. Have a look at the descriptions and specs of both phones on expansys (the link above)

@DANGER BHAI, that correct but the original poster is asking about the k-jam vs jasjar (not the original JAM) and both do have wifi

For wifi, the k-jam supports 802.11g and 802.11b whereas the JasJar only support 802.11b

The k-jam has EDGE while the JasJar has 3G/UMTS

The JasJar therefore supports video calling and has a second camera for that purpose
Obviously there is the different form factor difference

The k-jam has a 195mhz processor whereas the JasJar has a 520mhz processory though I understand the k-jam processor is dual threaded and actually performs very well, certainly comparable to the JasJar

thats a few things that come to mind immediately but for more just compare the K-Jam specs with the JasJar specs

@Masseur

Slightly off topic, but referring to what you said about the dual-thread capabilities of the K-Jam's processor, wouldn't this require apps to be programmed specifically to take advantage of it? How do you find the performance of your K-Jam?

I'm thinking of getting one myself, but I must admit that the processor is making me a bit wary, despite reading generally good reviews

EDIT: Just found your comments in the K-Jam thread, the performance isn't too bad at all eh?

From PC processors, I have always understood that multi threading required code that was compiled to perform that way. Indeed I recall that was a limiting factor of software performance when the first pentium processors were introduced, though some gain could be seen in some performance tests of old software

I don't know much about this topic being a software person myself so all I can tell you is that the k-jam does perform quite snappily and pleases me to see stuff happen that quickly.

In non scientific paralellel running of some activities I have been doing this week it actually 'feels' as quick as the JasJar

That's good enough for me, I guess the OS might have something to do with it but the important thing is that it's not a slow device

My contracts' up in a month or so, and expansys are doing a good deal on K-Jams at the minute so it looks like Cyco's going to be getting the old debit card out!

@mass, So if 3g is not a pressing requirement, one would be better off with a k-jam, is it?

no, there's more to it really. for example one thing to consider is how you you type on such a portable device.

if you do a lot of typing you're better off with the jasjar as the k-jam just isn't up to it. the jasjar allows almost normal finger typing but the k-jam is definitly a thumbs only device.

Hmm.. That is certainly a point... But for a non 3g market, the price difference between the two would probably swing inclinations in favour of the k-jam.. compactness being one factor and price being the other, with the only tradeoff being the lack of one handed operation, don't you think so?
