I got my w800i the other day and i the light in the keypad was being a bit funny, only the top half would light up (Top half being the left and right selection buttons, the walkman button, the C and back button) and the rest (Number buttons) wouldnt, it used to sort it self out when the light went off and on again but today it decided not to come on at all, i have emailed 02 about and would like to know if they will send out a new phone or offer a repair, the phone is less then 14 days old so do i have the right to demand a brand new phone rather then a repair?

Also is this a common problem related to the firmware?

Up to 28 days you have the right to have a NEW phone....

no repair...

tell them, either a new one or they can refund the lot....

If you so choose to accept the repair if the phone comes back still naff or not you will loose the right to a refund or a new phone....

If they dont have another in stock where you bought it you could always ask them to tranferr a phone from another store... (they should offer this to you at no loss of your rights...

If they cant get a phone to you in the a time that seems fair to you, then your right to cancel will apply....

Obviously being a contract you wanna make sure they dont try and stiff you with later bills...

i phone them today, they said it was out of stock and the gentleman left a note on my account saying i rang and reported it faulty within 14 days so even if i got out of that they should send me a new phone.
