The official statement about the Sony Ericsson ROB-1.
Q. Does Sony Ericsson still intend to launch ROB-1 as a commercial product during Q3?
A. No, the decision has been taken not to industrialize the concept.
Q. Why not?
A. We have decided instead to focus on other key accessories that we have in the market already or about to launch shortly, to support our phone portfolio for this year.
Q. Will you launch other products with Bluetooth™ Video Streaming in the future?
A. We do not discuss or comment future products but the development work we have undertaken for ROB-1 has given us important technology insights that we might end up using for future products.
Q: Did you cancel the product because of lack of interest from consumers?
A: We have had good customer feedback on the product, however we have taken the decision to focus on accessories which are closer to our core application areas, such as Bluetooth handsfree solutions, the Bluetooth Media Center, etc.
Q: Was it because of technical difficulties that you’ve decided to cancel the product?
A: The development of ROB has been going according to our plans, it was a strategic decision to focus on accessories which are closer to our core application areas.

Its such a shame....It should have been out sometime around now,Its cruel of

to do this making us wait nearly a whole year and then announce its to be cancelled.
I wonder has happened to all the prototypes knocking about, their must be quite a few since :e: were promoting these so intensily at cebit and the like.
