Hello,
I am having some problems with the sony ericsson update service for my P910i. It looks as if i need to update the phone but then everytime i reach the screen after checking all the requirements i simply get a blank screen with nothing working or loading in the background.
any ideas?

do you have the latest java installed on your pc? what about the SEUS software. is that installed?

delete or move the file hf.path that can be found on c:/ 1 KB in size....
Go thru the whole process again.... It will prompt you to download the software again....
Download it and install over your current installation.... Reboot and try again...

Pikey is right- Java: You got Java ? If on Windows and Internet Explorer, dont relly rely on the basic Runtimes. Install the Java Console from Sun.com .. Try again and revert.. Best Luck Buddy..

Ok. so the problem was my Java runtime version on my laptop. so i was able to update my phone...but now i have realized that i have made a disastrous decision:
My phone is once again locked on the network it was purchased (orange). I had unlocked it but upon completion of the update, i lost all my settings and programs installed (i can restore those) but whats worst is that my phone is back on being locked again.
is there anything i can do rightnow?

right now you can learn a valuable lesson... Not to wait money in unlocking a mobile where you did since it obviously is a pile of caca..
