hey guys i have tried searching but have no idea what to search for. my question is:
Is there anyway to set the P900 so when you receive a new message it will come up with who its from on the flip closed screen instead of the "New message recieved" message?
thanks for the help

Don't think you can do that with the P series unless you use S&W Smstones+. It's an app that lets you assign individual tones to contacts for sms's and I think it displays the name as well. I tried it out and didn't really care for it. You might like it though.

I wasn't entirely right. smstones+ only shows a name with the flip open. But can have individual ringers for different contacts. So you could identify them by sound. Or you could record their name and have that played when they send you a text message.

If you get Handy Day 2005 it will tell you who the sms is from with a photo as well, I'm trying out the trial version and its pretty cool

Agreed.
And this is just one aspect of its functionality too that, IMHO, should have been provided as standard. Why should we have to pay extra to get, for instance, profiles on the phone, or customisable key mapping?
