My question is simple, really. I'm in the process of selling my house and buying the one diagonally opposite the road. It's been on my must-buy list for 8years, and now that's it's for sale, i bought it yesterday. Question- what can i do to improve the ambience in my current house to help create that warm, homely feel? It's spic and span, neat as a pin as it is right now, but what else could i do, given that i've less than 3 hours before the first prospective buyers start arriving? Any comments most welcome.

Some say that the smell of baking bread or of fresh coffee being made works well. Make sure it doesn't smell of fags or of pets if you either smoke or have pets.
So go and buy a bread maker or coffee perculator!

I agree with the breadmaker idea, it works!
A trick form the Home renovation/auction reality shows on tv...
If your furniture, doesn't make the most of your house, rent some flash modern designer furniture and artworks from a office furniture store (the sort that provides furniture for office reception areas).
2 - 4 weeks rental shouldn't break the bank. The bond could be costly though.
