Has anyone had problems with this GPS receiver and setting up a bluetooth pairing? I can set up a pairing, it bonds using the figures 6268 (which is not in the manual) but as soon as it is switched off and back on, it then tries to find the phone but with no success. I then have to delete the pairing and re-find it again and re-bond it.
This can't be right can it?

What are you trying to say? I am asking why the P910i won't keep the pairing which I think is a reasonable question.
Not a very helpful answer.

I should have asked what software have you got? If tomtom mobile then I would advise the tomtom own receiver...
I know others are cheaper but I would rather have a gps receiver that as no issues and is fully compatible then one I have to play with every single time to get it to work...
Ultimatly I think there must be a problem with the gps reciever...
Not trying to insinuate anything...

Sorry, a bit jumpy this morning. I will be using Route 66 2006. I say that because it arrives today. Should the GPS receiver always stay paired with the phone or does the program make the GPS receiver interrogate the phone?
I bought the receiver form MobileFun who advertise it as compatible with the P910i.
Thanks
Doug

As as extra, I have the box ticked about allowing access without asking.

AND I was being a bit blonde (lack of caffeine)
As you put it the gps software polls the gps receiver as long as it the software is set to have a BT gps receiver (most have several options)
I havent used any other software but the TomTom 3 (wired) and now 5 BT cheap upgrade...
with tomtom 5 I havent paired the BT gps receiver with the PDA and it works perfectly...
Hope this helps a little...

I have a HOLUX GPSlim236 Wireless GPS Receiver for a month+ and works wonders with the Route 66 software and a P910i last firmware.
I can't complain. No problems whatsoever, pairing, reception. Recomended.

Thanks again to all. I will wait until I put the software on and then see what happens. Obviously getting excited.....
I have rang Holux and am awaiting a call back from their TS department.
Looks like a good reciever, good reviews.

@dougproctor
Im using a globalsat 338 with route66 on my p910i and very often also get the message on screen asking me if I want to use this receiver as standard. Never mind how many times before I have replied yes. Therefore, this ounds like a software issue. Nothing to do with the make of gps receiver. Hope this helps.
