Has any one noticed that the sound hisses and scratches when you listen to music on lower sound level? When i listen to a soft song i can hear it clearly. Before the firmware upgrade the sound wasnīt that bad. And i have compared the same song on my k700 and it sounds a hell of a lot clearer. I now really regret uppgrading! (uppgraded from SE:s Swedish site) Any one encountered this?
Very grateful for any info/pointers!
Thanks M.R

Others have reported that the mp3 player volume has increased, and this indicates that the internal amp has been cranked up somewhat. Sadly this means that all output will be louder, including the high frequency hiss that you can now hear. Try encoding songs with different settings until you get an acceptable result. maybe the new firmware increased the hi-frequency output level. You can probably try to compensate that using the equalizer, lower the hi-frequency levels in your equalizer.

Aha! Thatīs probably it! Hm i was quite happy with the max level on the sond before my upgrade. Guess there is no use to go to the SE service centre now. I was going to try re-upgrade with their equipment. Obviously newer isnīt always better. (Although i noticed that the video recording quality is a lot better, smother picture/no "squares" in the picture) But iīm still dissapointed on the upgrade! And you canīt go back to the older firmware.
Guess i have to live with the (in my opinion) crappier mp-player.

Thank you for your quick answer!

Hi!
I have tried that and that does not have any effect on the hissing sound. I think that the problem is like described in the first answer i recieved- that is higher sound level in the new firmware.
Thanks for your answer!

Hi again! You answered my question earlier about hissing/scratching sound on my w800i mp3-player at lower sound levels. And you suggested that i should try to enconde with other/new settings. Any concrete suggestions? I use mostly Itunes (have tried settings 96 k-bit, 128 k-bit Itunes) and 128 K-bit with the software following the phone (disc to phone) No improvements though.
Very thankful for reply.

Exactly the same, fullforce, after upgrading from original R1L002 to R1AA008.
