> K750i camera lens cover somehow broken?
Bookmark topic
I dropped my K750 on the ground the other day. Looked it over and the screen was fine, phew! Today I try to use the camera, but after the drop it seems that my lens protection cover is busted somehow - the phone doesn't understand that the lens cover is opened!
When I slide the cover open, nothing happens when before the phone would enter camera mode. And when I enter camera mode through the menu, it stays black and says "Open lens cover" even though it is opened.
Does anybody know why this happens and how it can be fixed?

Oh, and I updated through SEUS to R1N, but that couldn't have anything to do with this, could it? The update went fine and I've got camera software 4.5 according to the phone...
I really think it's the fall that did it, but I can't figure out how and why? And I can't get the dang lens protection cover off the phone so I can see behind it if something is busted there!

I think the cover broke off and sort of crashed through the lens. You are lucky your screen did not break.

No, nothing is broken on the outside, the cover is still there and all. I can still slide it back and forth, just like I always could. The phone looks all normal. The only thing is that the camera never comes on when I open the lens cover.

its probably some sort of catch that gets released when the cover is opened that activates the camera. Its probably been pushed in inside or something (i am taking a guess here!) so even though you try and access the cam through the menu, it still thinks its closed.
Do you have insurance on the phone?

Unfortunately not.
I guess I might have to turn it in somewhere and have it looked at. Bet it will cost me $$$ and to make it worse, it's a Vodafone branded K750 that I've unlocked and unbranded...

If you take the back of the phone there is a very little switch that is pressed when the camera cover opens/closes.
Maybe this has been knocked out of place. If you take the back of it should be pretty simple to see if this is the problem and fix it.

You're saying I can get the back plastic panel of my phone off somehow? Slide a knife in and just pull, or what?

Sounds interesting.

I'm going to try. Looks like a need an insanely small screwdriver, but I think I have one at home. Will post results.
