Persevered with P9xx phones now for almost 3 years and its non-sync problems with my PC. I did this in the hope that the problem was my archaic piece of junk that passes for a desktop.
Went out last week and splashed out on a rather rather expensive laptop. Rushed home in the knowledge that all my communication problems would now be over.
No such fekkin luck. Still can't see my phone.
Tried everything and scoured these forums for solutions with no change in circumstance.
Sorry but I've had enough of SE and there shabby attempts to produce software that can perform tasks that my Nokia was doing with ease several years ago.
Oh....... and by the way. Guess the make of my laptop

Sounds like you installed it incorrectly, I bet you plugged the cable into the USB socket in before installing the software

BTW I think portable PCs are known as Notebooks

I agree, the desktop connectivity is a mess. I've tried all the antivirus / firewall / cable setting / master reset / firmware update suggestions and now I finally accept my phone won't connect any more and rely solely on my memory card reader. I know it's not a PC problem as my wife's P900 connects no problem.
Judging by the number of threads from people with this same problem, this is a common bug with the P-Series which I hope they rectify with the P990.

i got a vaio and p910, no problems really, just once i had to reboot before things worked. install the pc suite again with your anti virus disabled and try syncing before you turn on your anti virus on and see if it works. also check all the spring loaded contacts in the docking station and clean the pads on the phone bottom. sometimes the little pins can stick.

I know whats wrong! This has happened to me a few times actually and its really annoying! Unfortuneately you have to do a master reset on the phone. Try and save most things to your MS Duo, but you will lose things like text messages and web settings. I know it will piss you off but I guarantee this will work for you! As soon as you've done the reset connect it to you Notebook and Happy future docking for you!

I had the same optimistic attitude after the P800.
Then the P900.
Now we're on the P910.
How many chances should one major manufacturer get?
