> Mobile phone monitor (MPM) can't find my T68i
Bookmark topic
Hi,
I just recently got my T68m upgraded to T68i, and i installed the T68i software and sync'd my phone once.... it seemed to have worked (First it found the new phone, asked for the name of the phone and the sim) but then it died half-way through trying to sync my contacts using XTND... and ever since then it has not been able to sync / find my phone again. I can transfer files using IRDA fine, and GPRS works through IRDA, but MPM just doesn't want to find my phone. I've tried closing all other programs and it still doesn't work. I'm using XP and the IRDA connection is fine.... is there anyway to reset the MPM settings or force it to see the phone somehow...? maybe theres still some kinda drivers installed for the t68m that aren't working with the t68i? I've tried searching the forums and haven't been able to come up with anything. If anyone could provide any help I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Dan

Uninstall the software, then install it again.

I've tried uninstalling / reinstalling twice so far with no luck... I'm using the latest package ( R4APackage4.exe ) thats listed in the software thread.
I'm uninstalling using add/remove programs and I also try and remove the T68 IR Modem driver while its connected to IR, and then reboot and reinstall the software.... perhaps theres some better way to do it that I'm missing?

double-check if MPM is using the correct com port and if some other program is trying to use the same com port.

how do you tell which com port is the correct one?

the correct port, is whichever port you use
for a serial cable connection it usually is com 1, but yours maybe different.
for
connections, there are plenty of virtual com ports to choose from.
look into your windows control panel for more information. (i assume it's windows)

I have had a similar experience after upgrading from T68m to T68i. MPM/XTND just wouldn,t work on XP over Irda and Bluetooth. I've discovered by accident that if i run MypictureR2E software before using XTND software, the connectivity for MPM will be resolved. I did it without resorting to uninstall and re installing MPM/XTND. I have no problems thereafter. Not sure this will be of any help

You need to download and install a programme called Mobile Phone Monitor(MPM) form SE
site
Then Install other programmes such as Mypicture, XTND. sendfile etc for specific purposes.
If you do not wish to install Mobile Phone Monitor , there is an alternate programme called Float'
FMA. This programme does not use MPM
