I've been playing around with my Pxxx series phones for over three years and finally this afternoon, for the first ocassion in all that time I have now managed to see, synchronise and back-up my phone....

Halle...bloody.... lujah !

Figured it was about time then that I tried to update my phone via the SE website.

For whatever reason I get as far as the final page and passed all the warnings, then my phone disconnects until I leave the SE page and without the update done.

Any ideas ?

As far as I am aware...... yes.

There was some download program that the process dumped onto my laptop.

I'm pretty sure its there as it only asked for it once, during my first attempt.

Its a P910i...... From what I recall the program was run, then installed.

It didn't ask but I even re-started just in case.

the only program I recall being installed during the update of P910 (as with other SEUS updates) is the standard java application that actually performs the update.

its possible that internet explorer is interfering with the java applet and people who experience this issue usually find success either installing SUNs own version of java for windows or using another browser

I've never done that as I have never encountered an issue updating online so can't offer any further suggestion except to be sure that your firewall is disabled during the update which also apparantly helps

Yeh... it is a java applet. Where might I get SUNs (?) version ?

Just tried it with the Firewall disabled. No joy.

I had this problem, I installed the java from sun as Masseur said, I also downloaded the latest pc suite from SE site.
I normally use Opera, it has not given me any problems.

Hope it works for you.
