Hi experts in Esato,
I usually download many contents from wap.sonyericsson.com not by my K700i but by using PC (Internet Explorer). I know this technique from www.valhala.be on the goodies section...but, started from today, I just can't do that any longer!!! I'm usually able to get mp3, thm, jar, tpl, png, jpg, gif files from the site and keep them all in my PC. But, surprisingly all files now turn into .dd extension--the unfamiliar format I think. So, for instance the eternal.thm becomes eternal.dd, Ace of Spades.jar becomes Ace of Spades.dd, Harmonia.mp3 becomes Harmonia.dd.....is this normal? Or is it akind of protection from SE so that people can only get the files via their WAP/handphone??? I guess so..I just get the files via GPRS today and everything works normally...I get the mp3, not dd anymore. Just the games section doesn't work at all. I can't download Five Stones, Casinowheel and soon because the site only provides .jad extension. Any explanation from you all guys??? Thanks.

when you go to wap.sonyericsson.com it automatically diverts you to the sony ericsson fun & downloads html page, where you can download exactly the same content as from the wap site. Any way you can't view wap pages in IE because it isn't a wap enabled browser.

I used the link several days ago and surely it worked...
But, please check the link today...whenever I click the download option, my Opera says that it has a .dd extension instead of .mp3, .jar, .thm, .mid and so on. That's what I mean, guys..or is it me not knowing this all??? I think you can do nothing with .dd extension for all files. I tried to get the file via my K700i by GPRS connection and it works perfectly. No .dd extension anymore ..it changes somehow into my .jpg file...try,please...maybe it's only mine working bad....

What happens if you rename the file to the extension that it should be, eg. rename picture.dd to picture.jpg?

You'll need to have 'hide file extensions for known file types' disabled. Go to 'my documents' (or any other folder), click on 'tools' then 'folder options'. On the second tab there is a list of settings, the one you need to un-tick is in there.

Same problem here. It used to work just fine, I was halfway through downloading the new stuff for the W550i, when I went back it was all .DD

That's what I mean. You can't download any files via your Pc no matter which browser you have. I am sure it's SE kinda protection..by PC all users of non-SE phone can get the contents. I just browse via K700 and all files work fine,except the games and applications. Try it and you know what I mean.
